The Ministry of Community Development Social Services hosted a high level delegation of Cooperating Partners and United Nations Agencies who are supporting Social Protection programmes in the country.
The team, led by the Permanent Secretary, Ms. Angela Chomba Kawandami was in Kafue District where they interacted with beneficiaries of Social Protection programmes, who shared how the interventions were positively impacting their lives.
The Cooperating Partners had an opportunity to have firsthand experience with different components of programmes such as the Single Window Initiative (SWI), a coordination mechanism used to serve clients using a one stop approach. Other programmes included the Social Cash Transfer (SCT) and its implementation processes.
The Cooperating Partners were impressed with how social cash transfers were benefitting households and how coordination of programmes was done.
