BRITISH GOVERNMENT APPLAUDS ZAMBIA’S SOCIAL PROTECTION PROGRAMMES

Deputy British High Commissioner to Zambia Sam Waldock has applauded various social protection programs being implemented by Government.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Community Development and Social Services Minister Doreen Mwamba today, Mr. Waldock said the programmes being implemented such as the Social Cash Transfer and Food Security Pack among others are vital to Zambia`s development.

He also commended Government for enacting the Children´s Code Act No. 12 of 2022, which he described as a step forward in advancing the rights of all children in Zambia.

And Ms. Mwamba reaffirmed Government´s commitment towards improving the wellbeing of poor and vulnerable people in the country.

The Minister thanked the British Government for its continued support towards various projects across the country.

She indicated that it is through such partnerships that Government is able to deliver developmental programmes successfully and on time.
