
Community Development and Social Services Minister Doreen Mwamba has applauded Eagles Ladies Club for not only uplifting the lives of women in the country but also communities.
Ms. Mwamba said Government recognise various women empowerment activities and community works being implemented by Club.
The Minister was speaking when she represented her counterpart Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo at the fundraising event organised by the Eagles Ladies Club which was held at the Zambia National Service Chamba Valley Headquarters’ Camp in Lusaka on Sunday.
The event was meant to raise funds the construction of the Tom Fara hospital at Zambia National Service Mpika milling plant in Mpika District.
In a speech read on her behalf by Ms. Mwamba, Ms. Masebo commended Eagles Ladies Club for spearheading the project, saying it supplements Government´s efforts in making health care services accessible for all Zambians.
“As Government, we remain resolute to supporting any initiatives aimed at easing access to basic health care services for all including those in rural and peri-urban areas,” she said.
And Eagles Ladies Club Patron Angela Solochi said the construction of a modern health facility is aimed at easing access to medical services for the people within the vicinity of the milling plant and Mpika District.
Ms. Solochi indicated that the health facility is expected to be constructed at a total cost of K27 Million.
Meanwhile, a total of K900,000 was raised through pledges by institutions and individuals towards the contruction of the facility at the fundraising event.
