The family, which is facing financial difficulties received baby care essentials from the Department of Social Welfare and the process to have them enrolled on social protection programmes has began.
The intervention is intended to alleviate the financial burden on the family and offer them an opportunity to create a sustainable source of income for the upbringing of the children.
A combined team of officers from the Ministry and the District Commissioner’s office who visited the family established that Fred Chikumbi and Lister Kabwe had four children before the triplets were born on March 7, 2024 at Kalobwa Health Post.
