The Zambia Information Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) has donated 30 computers and 1 projector to the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, specifically allocated to Monze Community Development Staff Training College.
Ministry of Community Development and Social Services, Ms. Angela Kawandami has described the donation as pivotal in enhancing digital teaching and learning at the institution, which is crucial for its continued growth in delivering skills development
During the commissioning of a computer lab and handover of the equipment to the college, Ms. Angela Kawandami conveyed her appreciation to ZICTA for their invaluable contribution.
She highlighted the transformative potential of the equipment in improving educational outcomes, emphasizing their role in supporting the recent increase in student enrollment, which reached 147 in 2024.
Ms. Kawandami, speaking through her representative, Mrs. Patricia Muyamwa, the Director for Community Development, underscored the college’s proactive stance in addressing local challenges such as climate change, drought, and food insecurity.
She is happy that the college has since launched initiatives aimed at enhancing food security within surrounding communities, reflecting the institution’s commitment to holistic community development.
And Monze District Commissioner, Mr. Mwanza Malambo lauded the college’s pivotal role in equipping students with life-changing skills.
He emphasized the importance of utilizing these skills to uplift not only individual lives but also to contribute meaningfully to community welfare.
Mr. Malambo encouraged students to stay clear of destructive behaviors but instead focus on leveraging their acquired skills to supplement government efforts in improving the lives of the most vulnerable.
