The Ministry of Community and Social Services and the community at Mukuni village in Kazungula district conducted a community engagement meeting to interact with the people through open dialogue aimed at sensitizing the community on the drought response interventions and child protection services implemented by the Ministry.
The meeting focused on a number of issues including beneficiary selection criteria, transfer value, frequency of support and caseload among others.
Speaking during the meeting, Mukuni village, Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Siachilubu appreciated Government for the successful implementation of these interventions, adding that they cushion the hunger situation in the country, ensuring that households do not become vulnerable amidst the drought.
Mr. Siachilubu, also encouraged members of the community not to shy away from inquiring on programme implementation and called for strengthened structures with regards to grievances.
Other people in attendance included the area councilor, village headmen, members of the Ward Development Committees, Community Welfare Assistance Committees and members of the Community.
