The Ministry and stakeholders in Livingstone district held meetings to sensitize the public on the drought response measures put it place by the government in Libuyu and Dambwa Central Wards.
The meetings were jointly conducted with officers from Disaster Management Mitigation Unit, Livingstone City Council and office of the area councilor for Dambwa Central to sensitize the community on programme guidelines for Emergency Social Transfer Programme, Emergency Wetlands Cropping, Relief Food Distribution, Cash for Work and Community Maize Sales Programme by the Food Reserve Agency among others.
Further, the engagement served as a platform for the community members to bring forward questions concerning social protection programming and officers from different departments provided feedback.
And Dambwa Central Area Councilor, Mr. Paul Sichikwenkwe, appreciated the community for turning up in numbers to this important meeting and encouraged them to widely share the information without distortion.
