
The Government through the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services and UNICEF has been lauded for promoting access to public financing and inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Synod Mulibezi, a resident of Nachandwe village in Southern Province, has expressed gratitude towards recent initiatives aimed at enhancing public financing for persons with disabilities describing it as a a step in the right direction.
He credits the concerted efforts of various stakeholders including the government and UNICEF for advancing socio-economic equality through targeted measures such as easing processes to apply for financial assistance through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) capacity-building workshop in Choma, Mr Mulibezi highlighted the positive impact of efforts to streamline the CDF application processes for persons with disabilities, describing it as a motivation.
He therefore appreciated and emphasized the workshop’s role in enhancing awareness and understanding of disability mainstreaming across various sectors.
“The capacity-building workshop has been eye-opening and highly educational,” Mr. Mulibezi appreciated, underscoring its significance in empowering persons with disabilities.
He has therefore appreciated the collaborative efforts being advanced aimed at fostering an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of disability, can actively participate and thrive.
