The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services has joined the rest of the world in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
This year’s campaign was launched in Kitwe by the Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, who was represented by the Minister of Lands, Hon. Sylvia Masebo.
The annual event, observed from November 25th to December 10th, provides a critical platform to raise awareness and advocate for the elimination of GBV globally.
Under the 2025 theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” the campaign underscores ongoing efforts to combat cyberbullying and other forms of online violence.
During the launch, staff from the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services highlighted how various programmes being implemented are addressing the root causes and consequences of GBV, in line with the objectives of the 16 Days of Activism.
The launch marks the beginning of a series of activities to be conducted across the country aimed at combating GBV and promoting safer communities for all.
