The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services Permanent Secretary, Ms Angela Kawandami, today met a delegation from Caritas Czech Republic to explore potential areas of collaboration aimed at advancing human development in Zambia.

Ms Kawandami commended Caritas Czech Republic for its contributions in the areas of health, social protection, gender-based violence prevention and response, as well as refugee empowerment.

She said the meeting provided an important platform to align the Ministry’s priorities with those of Caritas Czech Republic, fostering stronger partnerships while avoiding duplication of efforts in the delivery of development interventions.

The Permanent Secretary further noted that the Ministry’s extensive structures across the country present an opportunity for collaboration in strengthening the delivery of social protection programmes and expanding access to essential services for poor and vulnerable communities.

And Caritas Czech Republic Programmes Manager, Mr Bwalya Joshua Kampamba, commended the Ministry for its unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable populations across the country.

Mr Kampamba said Caritas Czech Republic remains committed to partnering with the Ministry in areas of mutual interest, including child protection, community development, and social welfare interventions, to enhance the well-being of vulnerable households.
