President of the Republic of Zambia Mr. Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed Government’s commitment to enhancing social protection and ensuring that vulnerable citizens are not left behind in Zambia’s development journey.
Speaking during his Inauguration, President Hichilema said Government would continue to strengthen social protection for those who need it most, as part of its broader commitment to building an inclusive and resilient economy.
He emphasised that economic growth must translate into improved livelihoods and greater opportunities for ordinary Zambians, particularly vulnerable households, women and young people.
“We will deepen the economic empowerment of women and young people and continue to strengthen social protection for those who need it most,” President Hichilema said.
The commitment places social protection at the centre of Government’s efforts to reduce vulnerability, protect households from economic shocks and enable citizens to participate meaningfully in national development, leaving no one behind.
The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services will therefore continue working to enhance social protection interventions while linking them with opportunities for economic participation, skills development and improved livelihoods.
