COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Community Skills Development programme aims at building the capacities of   community members  in community development and social welfare issues as well as empowering vulnerable members of the community with survival skills through functional literacy and skills training. The programme has three (3) key components namely:

1.     Community Skills Training

Objective: To provide livelihood skills that will improve the status of living for the vulnerable community members and to provide entrepreneurship skills through skills such as: Carpentry and Joinery, General Agriculture, Tailoring and Design, Home Management and Catering, Metal Fabrication, Power electrical and other short courses.

 Skills Centers: This is implemented in Eleven (11) Community Development Skills Training Centers based in Eight (8) provinces as follows:

NB: Demand driven courses (Minimum of 4 weeks)

      Entrepreneurship is taught in all courses.

FEES: Fees range from K350.00 – K500.00. For those that are working and would want tailor made courses fees range from K700.00 to K 1,000.00. Subject to change when need arrises.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Open to all members of the community who are interested in skills in various courses
  • Should have basic literacy skills (able to read, write and do simple arithmetic)
  • Possess a National Registration Card or valid Identity Card
  • Aged 18 – 60 years
